To assist Venezuelan migrants fleeing to Peru, COOPI is planning emergency responses to deal with the crisis.

In the Binational border centre (CEBAF), near Tumbes, in northern Peru, COOPI promotes awareness raising activities on the importance of personal hygiene for Venezuelan families, in collaboration with Unicef.

Since September 2018, more than 10,000 households (31,558 individuals) received personal hygiene kits, while more than 10,000 people were trained on personal hygiene best practices, as part of the project entitled "Supporting migrant children and their families in vulnerable conditions in the North of the country to preserve their state of health”.

In collaboration with the International Organization for Migration (IOM), COOPI ensures safe transit of Venezuelan migrants at the northern border of Peru.
