Governance and human rights

We support the strengthening of the public institutions and of the local organizations; we promote the protection and the respect for the human rights of the most marginalized groups for ethnic or social reasons.

COOPI promotes the implementation of democracy and the active participation of citizens acting in several ways: it supports the structuring and the establishment of the civil society organizations (local associations, cooperatives and cooperatives’ networks, informal volunteering groups, advocacy committee, etc.); it supports the presence of public institutions in less state-run areas, it encourages the acquisition of technical resources and expertise; it promotes peacemaking and social cohesion processes in war-torn communities, organizing public events and educational paths; it promotes awareness’ actions on advocacy, human rights and empowerment of indigenous people, ethnic minorities and vulnerable groups (women, children, elders, and disabled people).
