Applications open for the 2024 Young Officials of International Organizations (JPO) Program

The call for applications for 46 positions of the Italian Junior Professional Officers Programme - also known as the JPO Program - for the 2024 edition is now open. This program, funded by the Italian Government and managed by the United Nations Department of Economic and Social Affairs (UN/DESA), offers qualified young people a unique opportunity to gain professional experience in international organizations.

A total of 45 positions are reserved for Italian candidates, while 1 position is for candidates from developing countries. General requirements for Italian candidates include:

  • Birth on or after January 1, 1993 (or January 1, 1992 for medical graduates; January 1, 1990 for medical graduates with postgraduate degrees);
  • Italian nationality;
  • Excellent knowledge of English and Italian;
  • Having obtained one of the following academic degrees prior to the deadline of the call for applications: bachelor's/master's degree, single-cycle master's degree, or post-bachelor's degree.

For applicants coming from developing countries, requirements include nationality of one of the eligible countries, excellent English proficiency, and possession of one of the academic degrees mentioned above.

Applications must be submitted online through UN/DESA's OWA platform, which can be accessed at www.undesa.it, by August 12, 2024 at 2 p.m. (Italian time). Each applicant may apply for up to three positions.
