COOPI News. 60th anniversary special edition

In 1965, together with 18 young volunteers, father Vincenzo Barbieri founded COOPI – Cooperazione Internazionale with a clear vision: to respond to the needs of the most vulnerable populations in the Global South. Since then, our commitment has never wavered. Sixty years later, we are proud to celebrate this extraordinary milestone with a special edition of our bullettin, “COOPI News”.

A journey of sixty years

From our first missions in Ecuador and Sierra Leone to the innovative projects we are running today in over 30 countries worldwide, COOPI has supported millions of people toward a better future. This special edition tells a story of passion, resilience, and tangible impact, made possible thanks to the contributions of our partners, donors, and aid workers.

Through articles, testimonials, and historical images, we retrace the milestones that have marked our evolution: from the pioneering volunteer work of the 1960s to the adoption of professional approaches, from managing humanitarian emergencies to promoting sustainable and inclusive development.

Millions of lives, a continuing commitment

The slogan for our 60th anniversary encapsulates the mission driving all our actions: to turn every gesture into opportunity and build a fairer world, one project at a time.

This special edition offers a unique perspective on the achievements we have reached and the challenges ahead. From the stories of the beneficiaries we have supported to the successes shared with our partners, one thing is clear: together, we can continue to make a difference.
