After a decades-long experience (from 1977 until 2011), COOPI made its return in Cameroon in June 2017 to face the humanitarian crisis affecting local populations in the Logone and Chari departments, located in the Far North Region.

Throughout the last years, the situation in such area has gotten worse due to the violence spread by terrorist group Boko Haram, resulting in a massive displacement of refugees and migrants. COOPI started two emergency projects concerning education, food and nutrition security and protection.

COOPI provides education to children and boys between 5 and 18 years of age by renovating schools, supplying school material and covering related expenses. In addition, it provides psychological assistance to IDPs and the host population suffering from traumas.
