In Senegal COOPI has managed projects related to different sectors: after dealing with health from 1993 until 2002, since 2006 it has been carrying out child sponsorships in Ziguinchor, focused on protecting the right to education for children of families with socio-economic difficulties.

In addition, from 2004 to 2010, COOPI implemented several social and economic promotion measures in favour of vulnerable groups (women's cooperatives, disabled people, vulnerable young people from disadvantaged areas), in order to strengthen their aptitude and professional skills and promote their integration into the labour market in various regions of the country (Casamance, Dakar, Thies, Louga, St.Louis).

Since 2004, COOPI has been working in the field of migration through co-development and professionalisation of the diaspora. Since 2016, in the Tambacounda region, COOPI has been working in partnership with IOM and AICS to create employment opportunities for vulnerable young people and for returnees, through vocational training and sustainable employment in the agricultural and livestock sectors.
