Ecuador. COOPI and UNICEF present the Human Rights Classroom

To mark International Human Rights Day, COOPI - Cooperazione Internazionale and UNICEF launch a virtual learning platform, completely free and available to users to deepen their knowledge and training on the subject of human mobility.

In recent years, in response to the Venezuelan crisis, more than 480,000 people have reached Ecuador in search of better living conditions, making the country the third most popular destination for Venezuelan migrants.

In response to this emergency, COOPI, with the support of the Directorate-General for European Civil Protection and Humanitarian Aid Operations (ECHO), is intervening in several regions of the country as part of the project "Improved conditions of access to protection and security for children and adolescents in the context of human mobility and their families in transit and/or residing in Ecuador - PHASE 2".

With the aim of continuing to strengthen local systems of protection of rights, auladederechoshumanos.org, literally classroom of human rights, is an e-learning portal that COOPI, in collaboration with UNICEF, has decided to dedicate as a free service to citizens. On the platform, with free access, you can find courses, videos and educational audio on the subject of human mobility.

Currently, auladederechoshumanos.org hosts a course that aims to train users not only on the concept of human mobility but also to provide better assistance services to migrants and refugees in Ecuador. In this training space, the topic is addressed with an intersectional approach and oriented towards special support for children, adolescents and their families.

The site has multimedia resources and there is no time limit for courses or schedules as it is designed to adapt to each person's needs. It also has a chatbot, i.e. a virtual support, which provides information on the rights of people with human mobility and offers users a guide to humanitarian services.
