From Nigeria toward Niger to run away massacres

?When they arrived they started to burn the houses. Then when all people went out on the street the men of Boko Haram started to shoot. The cars burned?there were many dead bodies along the shore of the Komadougou river?.

Aboubacar is 8 years old and he showed his shock by a drawing. After this sad situation, he had to leave his native town Damassak to find a refuge in Niger.

He is followed by our psychologists, as other 10000 children, in the sector of the COOPI-UNICEF's project for humanitarian assistance in the region of Diffa in the South-East part of Niger. This region lives for more than one year in an emergency situation causede by the fight which is becoming ever more worrying in the North-East part of Nigeria.

COOPI intervenes giving assistance to children and to their families by a travelling device of psychosocial support. The project aims to reinforce the ability of answer of the refugees and host communities with playful and recreational activities for the children; community activities like dialog and support groups to promote solidarity and social cohesion; activities to sensitize community.
