In mourning for Merlin Mbouyo
With immense sorrow, we announce the sudden death of our colleague Merlin Mbouyo, COOPI Field Coordinator in the Lake region, in Chad. Merlin, who was 36 years old, father of three children and expecting the fourth, died last night, 13 april, at the Bol Hospital. Merlin has been ill for some days and, after being hospitalized, his conditions deteriorated within a few hours.
COOPI Foundation shares his grief with his family, friends and close colleagues.
Merlin Mbouyo graduated in Rural Engineering at the National Advanced School of Public Works in Yaoundé, Cameroon. He developed a 14-year-old experience in leadership, team and project management in particularly difficult contexts.
He was an enthusiastic and committed person, always looking for constant improvement in everything he did. Our Head of Mission in Chad, Brian Menelet, remembers him for his good mood and his joy when, just a few days ago, he told him he would become father again.
The humanitarian sector loses a valuable person.
