Jordan. Pathways to professional growth and support for micro enterprises, Ahmad's story

Ahmad Al-Sharea' has improved his skills and competencies as a technician thanks to the training course sponsored by COOPI - Cooperazione Internazionale, with funding from the Italian Agency for Development Cooperation (AICS) in the project "Saqel: Pathways to professional growth for inclusive economic development in the Governorates of Zarqa and Irbid" in Jordan running since March 2022.

The course has helped him develop better self-discipline and learn new entrepreneurial skills, such as capitalizing on successes once he has achieved some stability in business.

Ahmad relates:

The training course had a significant impact on my personality and professional development. It was a great experience that provided me with valuable lessons. When I started my career, I did not have the right skills; thanks to the course I gradually improved my skills over time as a technician.

In fact, he considers himself fully satisfied, as he was able to acquire essential communication skills:

In situations dealing with difficult customers who have a negative attitude, I learned that it is our responsibility to handle their complaints carefully. Although I already possessed some of these skills, the course improved my skills, which are essential to support my work.

Ahmad is a determined person who aims for great success. Therefore, the course helped him take a big step toward achieving this goal of his both professionally and personally.

COOPI's project, thanks to the contribution of the Italian Agency for Development Cooperation (AICS) and in collaboration with the Italian Association of Women for Development (AIDOS), Education for Employment Jordan (EFE) and Arab Renaissance for Democracy and Development (ARDD), addresses livelihood needs and supports the creation of decent jobs for Syrian refugees and the Jordanian community, with a focus on the vulnerable population. The goal is to improve socioeconomic conditions by fostering inclusive access and income opportunities through supporting the creation or strengthening of micro or small businesses, promoting inclusive economic growth in compliance with decent work standards.
