Relaunch of the call for support to productive, community-based, and associative initiatives under the Amazonia+ program

Within the framework of the Amazonia+ Programme, funded by the European Union and implemented by the Italian Agency for Development Cooperation (AICS), FIAP Spanish Cooperation, and Expertise France (EF), a consortium of implementing partners supporting AICS has been selected, led by COOPI – Cooperazione Internazionale, together with the Universidad Nacional Abierta y a Distancia – UNAD (Colombia) and the Universidad San Francisco de Quito – USFQ (Ecuador). In this context, we hereby inform that the call for support to community-based and associative productive initiatives in agricultural and livestock processes in the Amazon region - aimed at preventing and mitigating deforestation, environmental degradation, and forest fires - is being re-launched. The initial publication of this call took place on 14 October 2025.

This re-launch is carried out with the aim of broadening participation by extending the deadline for the submission of proposals until 30 January 2026. To date, support remains to be allocated to 7 projects, as only one beneficiary organization was selected during the initial call.

We invite civil society organizations, community associations, cooperatives, community-based organizations, and/or community-focused non-profit foundations with a productive profile in the agricultural and/or livestock sector, that are legally constituted (legal persons) and meet the eligibility criteria outlined in the Terms of Reference of this document, to apply and submit their proposals.

The proposals must be oriented towards one or more of the following thematic areas:

  1. Prevention and mitigation of fire risk in sustainable agriculture, livestock production, agroforestry, and the transformation of agri-food systems.
  2. Prevention and mitigation of fire risk in the context of sustainable forest use.
  3. Good agricultural and/or livestock practices to prevent deforestation and/or forest fires in the development of agricultural activities and in natural resource management.
  4. Strengthening women’s leadership and participation, giving priority to actions that promote and reinforce women’s leadership in the territories.
  5. Strengthening community-level fire monitoring capacities through the acquisition of technology for the control, monitoring, and follow-up of forest fire prevention, enabling the reinforcement of existing or planned mechanisms within a sustainable strategy.
  6. Development of sustainable practices as alternatives to the use of fire in the agricultural and livestock sector.
  7. Capacity-building for the implementation of forest fire prevention measures, particularly in small-scale agricultural and livestock sectors.

We kindly request that you review the Terms of Reference in detail and submit your proposals by 30 January 2026, in accordance with the conditions established in this document.
