Relaunch of the call for support to pilot demonstrative projects under the Amazonia+ program
From the Amazonia+ Programme, funded by the European Union and implemented by the Italian Agency for Development Cooperation (AICS), FIAP Spanish Cooperation, and Expertise France (EF), a consortium of implementing partners to support AICS has been selected, led by COOPI – Cooperazione Internazionale, together with the Universidad Nacional Abierta y a Distancia – UNAD (Colombia) and the Universidad San Francisco de Quito – USFQ (Ecuador).
In this context, please be informed that the call for support to Demonstrative Pilot Projects in the areas of forest fire prevention, the fight against deforestation, and forest degradation—initially published on 28 October 2025—has been relaunched.
This relaunch is carried out in order to broaden participation by extending the deadline for the submission of proposals until 30 January 2026. To date, support remains to be allocated to three projects, as one beneficiary organization was selected in the initial call.
We invite the following to apply and submit their proposals:
- Community and productive associations (cooperatives, farmers’ associations, women’s and youth organizations, and producer groups) legally constituted (legal personality) and interested in implementing sustainable forest management alternatives.
- Environmental authorities and territorial entities responsible for forest planning, land-use planning, and forest management.
- Protected area management organizations (active in national parks, community reserves, biological corridors, among others).
- Civil society organizations and local NGOs with experience in conservation, sustainable development, or forest fire prevention.
- Research centers and universities that are part of the Amazonian Universities Network established under the Amazonia Viva Project, and that can contribute technical knowledge and scientific validation to sustainable management practices, thereby supporting the replication and scalability of actions.
We kindly request that you review the Terms of Reference in detail and submit your proposals by 30 January 2026, in accordance with the conditions established in this document.
