Ituri, the story of Thérac against malnutrition

My name is Thérac-Ngadjanzale and I am Congolese. I am 59 years old, I am married and I have 6 children.

Nzana is my youngest daughter and at the age of 2, in 2001, she suffered from malnutrition.

My husband and I had lost all hope of saving her.

Fortunately, at that time, the NGO COOPI was present in our village of Dhebu, where it was carrying out a project on nutrition. Thank to its support, we were able to take care of her and the organization covered all medical fees.

COOPI made it possible for me to be now the grandmother of two beautiful grandchildren.

The organization really changed my life. That's why I decided to join the team of community trainers in my village.

To date, I have actively participated in the awareness sessions for the families of my community and I have taken part in the general assembly organized by COOPI for the project of multisectoral response to the humanitarian crisis in the territory of Djugu, Ituri. 

Thanks to the Humanitarian Fund, COOPI will build a maternity ward and offer free assistance to pregnant women and children under 5 years of age.

I hope with all my heart that this project will save the lives of many women and children and help them to have a better future, as it has been for my family.
